Three resistances in one cartridge: what Voopoo's Multi-Ohm pod actually retires
The Argus G4 ships a cartridge carrying 0.4, 0.7 and 1.0 ohm with switching between them. That is an architecture change, and it moves a decision off the shelf and into the device.

For as long as pod systems have shipped replaceable coils, resistance has been decided at the point of purchase: one cartridge, one wicking geometry, one wattage envelope, one stock-keeping unit per option. A buyer who changed their mind about the draw bought a different consumable.
Voopoo’s Argus Multi-Ohm Cartridge, which arrived with the Argus G4, collapses that. Ecigclick’s review of the device describes a single cartridge carrying three resistances — 0.4, 0.7 and 1.0 ohm — with switching between them, and characterises the arrangement as an industry first. Why this is architecture rather than a feature
A resistance is not a setting. It is a physical element with its own surface area, its own wicking path and its own power range, historically separated by a plastic wall — one cartridge each. Putting three in one body means three sets of wicking channels sharing a reservoir, switching that has to route power to the right one, and a single set of seals doing the work of three.
The buying consequence follows. The resistance choice moves off the shelf and into the device, and the cost of getting it wrong falls from a wasted consumable to a switch. It also changes what failure costs: when one element in a shared body degrades, what gets replaced is the whole cartridge, not the element that went.
The published figures
The G4 is listed at 1,650 mAh, with a 5–35 W output and 5V/2A charging quoted at 45 minutes to full. The pod holds 2 ml in markets covered by the EU Tobacco Products Directive, which caps a cartridge or tank at that figure, and 3.5 ml elsewhere — identical hardware, two capacities, decided by jurisdiction rather than by engineering.
The reported trade-offs
The same review notes that the 0.4 ohm mode wants the full 35 W to give its best flavour, which is a battery-life cost on a cell of that size, and that the airflow and firing controls are easy to trigger in a pocket. Both are consistent with the format: a device asked to do more draws harder on a fixed cell, and more surface controls means more surfaces to catch.
None of this settles how the cartridge wears over a month, the only timescale that answers a coil question. The idea is sound; the load it places on seals and switching is real.
